Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. As a seasoned professional in heavy equipment repair, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet and machinery across various operational sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles, including dump trucks, road tractors, off-road excavation equipment, farm equipment, and light duty trucks.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs the above forementioned equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and minimal downtime.
- Ability to work in the field as needed performing service calls on companies own equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, with knowledge heavy equipment, diesel engines, passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks.
- Proficiency in diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy parts and work in varied environmental conditions.
- Capacity to work as a team and take instruction.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with fleet maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with off-road excavation equipment maintenance.
- ASE or other relevant certifications.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or other industrial brands is a plus
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and hydraulic system layouts
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, HVAC systems servicing, and tire service
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients
- Physical ability for heavy lifting tasks and working in various environmental conditions; commitment to safety standards at all times
