Role Description This full-time, on-site Therapist role is located in Goodyear, AZ. The Therapist will provide individual and group therapy to clients experiencing gambling addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns, using evidence-based modalities and trauma-informed approaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing and updating treatment plans, documenting clinical progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care. The Therapist will facilitate psychoeducational groups, support family involvement when appropriate, and participate in case reviews and supervision. The role also involves maintaining ethical and professional standards, adhering to regulatory and accreditation requirements, and contributing to ongoing program development and quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Clinical counseling and psychotherapy skills, including experience providing individual and group therapy to adults with addiction or behavioral health conditions.
- Assessment and treatment planning abilities, including conducting clinical interviews, risk assessments, and developing evidence-based, person-centered treatment plans.
- Knowledge of addiction treatment, with understanding of gambling disorder, process addictions, relapse prevention, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, including clear clinical writing, accurate record-keeping, and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, demonstrate cultural humility, and create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment for people from diverse backgrounds.
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field; active or eligible licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LPC, LMFT) in the state of Florida preferred.
- Experience in residential or intensive treatment settings, and familiarity with Joint Commission standards or similar accreditation requirements, is beneficial.
- Comfort working on-site in Anna Maria, FL, with the ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and contribute positively to a team-based treatment environment.
