Learning Objectives
- Understanding the history of commercial design and workplace evolution.
- Familiarity with AWC's mission, values, and commercial furniture specifications.
- Acquiring knowledge of interior design best practices and creative solution development.
- Gaining insights into professional firm practices and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in creative solution development and product specification.
- Assist with acquiring samples, finishes, and rough budgeting.
- Contribute to test-fits, space plans, pre-proposal meetings, and presentations.
- Create renderings, visuals, and presentation materials.
- Shadow installation days and participate in site visits before, during, and after project completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and project management.
Qualifications
Intern Candidate Requirements
- Enrollment in an accredited interior design program or equivalent education.
- Strong design and creative capabilities with a passion for applying the design process.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Cover letter and portfolio are required for consideration in this program.
