General Summary
We are seeking an Estimator-Project Manager in the Southern California area. This is an in-person position. The Civil and Electrical Estimator-Project Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, monitoring, and coordinating General Contracting projects from bidding to completion. The role involves estimating, scheduling, and managing civil construction projects. As the regional lead for civil estimating and project management, this individual ensures project execution aligns with company goals and profitability targets. This position is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of construction projects ranging from $1 - $35 plus million in size.
Essential Job Accountabilities
- Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure corporate profitability goals are met.
- Coordinate with estimators and project controls group to establish budget.
- Lead estimating efforts on vertically integrated projects to ensure accurate and consistent bid to build process.
- Coordinate efforts with estimators, large project sponsor, and manager of construction to manage resources to meet project schedule.
- Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy of bid and evaluate project feasibility; work with estimating team to develop bid schedule.
- Ensure proper job controls, i.e. quantities, costs, revenue and schedule.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base.
- Ensure accurate construction reports for the job allowing for continuous improvement in performance.
- Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed expected margins.
- Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Work Experience
- Five (5) minimum years of progressive project experience in Civil and Electrical environments.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Knowledge of construction paving, underground, concrete and grading practices.
- Knowledge of dry utility construction not required but a plus.
- Knowledge and understanding of union agreements and prevailing wage issues.
- Maintain ability to work in high production environment.
- Demonstrated decision-making skills.

- Excellent supervisory communication and organizational skills.
- Accuracy at all times.
What You'll Do:
Pre-Bid/Bidding/Planning:
- Conducts pre-bid activities, including obtaining plans, reviewing scopes, and requesting subcontractor quotes.
- Attends pre-bid meetings and provides technical sales support.
- Performs material take-offs and pre-qualifies subcontractors.
- Quantifies and confirms sub trade pricing while reviewing General and Supplemental Conditions.
- Builds estimates, identifies risks, and submits bid packages for review to Lead Estimator.
- Participates in weekly meetings to track project progress and update bid metrics.
- Assists with bid forms and sub trade proposals: schedules, Project management plans, Narratives, Scope Clarifications, Alternates, Unit pricing, Resumes/key personnel, Subcontractors
Execution:
- Confirms buy-out at contract signing and requests necessary documentation from subcontractors. (SOV's)
- Ensures compliance with construction plans, specifications, and local regulations.
- Oversees scheduling and sequencing of all installation activities.
- Communicates with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Monitors project scope changes, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and reports financial outcomes.
- Enforces safety regulations, resolves operational challenges, and ensures quality standards.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Subject to outside working conditions. At times will be working around large construction equipment, must be safety conscience.

Base Salary Range:
$80,000.00 - $160,000.00
Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
