The Role
The Technical Designer is responsible for supporting all aspects of technical design and fit development across seasonal collections. This position will assist in executing fit sessions, maintaining accurate technical documentation, communicating with factories, and helping ensure all garments meet company standards prior to production.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in women’s contemporary or luxury apparel.
What You’ll Do
Technical Development & Fit Support
- Participate in fit sessions alongside Design and Product Development teams
- Evaluate fit, balance, proportion, and garment construction
- Assist in identifying fit corrections and construction improvements
- Review samples for workmanship, finishing, and overall garment execution
- Support consistency in fit and grading across categories and deliveries
Tech Pack & Specification Management
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including:
- Construction details
- Measurement specifications
- Graded POMs
- Stitching and finishing details
- Trim applications
- Update specs and fit comments throughout development
- Ensure styles are production-ready prior to factory release
Factory Communication & Sample Follow-Up
- Communicate fit comments and technical revisions to overseas and domestic factories
- Help track sample status, approvals, and development timelines
- Review factory comments and assist
Who You Are
3–5 years of Technical Design experience in women’s contemporary or luxury apparel
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and patternmaking
Experience working across dresses, occasionwear, soft tailoring, and specialty fabrics preferred
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and seasonal deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate fit and construction corrections
Collaborative team player who works well cross-functionally with Design, Production, and Product Development
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Excel, and PLM systems
Comfortable working with overseas and domestic factories
Passionate about product quality, consistency, and craftsmanship
