Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe, nurturing, and clean environment for pets in our facility. This role involves hands-on interaction with animals, ensuring their well-being, cleanliness, and comfort while also providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming as needed.
- Engage with pet owners to provide updates on their pets' status and address any questions or concerns.
- Participate in pet care activities such as walking dogs, playing with them in the yard, and providing companionship.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while handling animals to prevent injuries to both staff and pets.
Requirements
- Love for animals - specifically dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely when necessary.
- A commitment to the care and welfare of animals.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting animals when necessary and being on your feet for extended periods.
