Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid/Local)

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Alexandria Choral Society is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Chorus Manager to serve as the operational backbone of our organization. This role is designed for a hands-on professional who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly — from concert night logistics to contract management to day-to-day communications.
You will be supported by an active volunteer Board of Directors and a suite of specialized committees (Executive, Grant, Finance, Contracts, Marketing/Communications, ADEI, and Development), allowing you to focus your energy where it matters most: execution.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations & Communications
- Serve as the primary point of contact for daily business, managing timelines, correspondence, and organizational workflows
- Coordinate with Committee volunteers on member and patron outreach
- Keep internal systems and records organized and up to date across Google Workspace and Asana
Concert & Event Logistics
- Lead front-of-house operations for Alexandria-based performances, including venue setup and box office management
- Coordinate a dedicated team of box office volunteers to support ticket sales and patron check-in
- Ensure concert nights run on time and with professional precision
Contract & Vendor Management
- Work with the Contracts Committee to negotiate and manage agreements with performance venues, vendors, and guest musicians
- Track contract timelines and deliverables to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
Equipment & Transportation
- Manage the movement of ACS property and equipment across the Alexandria area
- Reliable personal vehicle access is strongly preferred
Community & Development Support
- Represent ACS at select community events, donor gatherings, and patron-facing occasions
- Partner with the Development Committee to execute fundraising initiatives, including professional communication with donors/sponsors, managing stewardship outreach, and ensuring the successful delivery of development campaigns
- During the annual grant season (January - March), collaborate closely with the Grant Committee Chair to research funding opportunities and assist in drafting and submitting applications for local, state, and private funding
- Help maintain ACS's positive presence in the Alexandria community

REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms), Asana, and Chorus Connections
- Availability for evening board/committee meetings and weekend performances
- Reliable transportation for equipment and vendor coordination across the Alexandria area
