Position Title: Design Assistant, Accessories

Reporting To: VP, Head of Design, Accessories and Footwear

Summary

The Design Assistant, Accessories will report to the VP, Head of Design, Accessories and Footwear and will provide dedicated support to the Accessories Design team. This role is focused exclusively on accessories categories, including handbags, small leather goods, and related product categories.

The position supports the creative and operational aspects of the accessories design process, ensuring the smooth execution of seasonal collections from concept through finalization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Preparing materials for sketch reviews, proto reviews, materials meetings, and cross-functional meetings where Accessories Design is represented.
• Preparing cads and moke up for sketch review following design direction.
• Preparing Teck pack including Spec for pass off to the factory.
• Assisting in maintaining and updating accessories design boards with relevant materials, hardware references, sketches, and inspiration imagery.
• Participating in and taking notes during sketch reviews and design meetings.
• Managing and maintaining accessories collection line sheets.
• Managing and updating accessories collection boards and ensuring all information remains current and accurate.
• Tracking accessories design tech pack flow and ensuring timely handoff to cross-functional partners.
• Preparing materials and information for design consultants and freelance support.
• Supporting budget tracking and design expense reconciliation.
• Maintaining and organizing the accessories archive, materials library, and shared design workspaces.
• Participating in fittings and styling sessions as needed, including assisting with fit notes and photography when applicable.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience, including relevant internship experience.
• Degree in Fashion Design or Accessories Design, or related creative/business field.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop; Excel proficiency preferred.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• High attention to detail with strong follow-through on tasks.
• Ability to remain composed while managing multiple priorities.

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $60,000 to $63,000, which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
