Summary
The Data Analyst will drive performance by leveraging data analytics to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency. This role will work cross-functionally to develop dashboards and reporting tools that transform raw project data into actionable insights for cost forecasting, subcontractor evaluation, project monitoring, and cost reporting. Additionally, the specialist will document workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements using Lean construction principles, digital automation (e.g., Power Automate), and workflow optimization strategies, playing a key role in advancing operational excellence and fostering a scalable, data-driven culture.
Responsibilities
- Data Infrastructure Design and Development:
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for collecting structured and unstructured data.
- Optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data privacy and security measures are in place.
- Data Quality and Cleanliness:
- Encourage best practices for clean, high-quality data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently.
- Assemble large, complex datasets that meet business requirements.
- Executive-Level Project Dashboard Development
- Design and maintain executive dashboard for senior leadership to track project performance across multiple sites, ensuring visuals are intuitive, routinely updated, and tailored to diverse user needs.
- Integrate key indicators such as:
o RFI volumes and response time
o Submittal status and turnaround
o Daily report completion trends
o JSA (Job Safety Analysis) submissions and compliance
o Schedule and financial risk indicators (in collaboration with project
controls)
- Cost Report Optimization
- Build data models and templates that allow project teams to extract monthly cost report inputs directly from Procore and other internal platforms.
- Standardize reporting formats and reduce manual data entry through automation and system integration, collaborating closely with accounting, finance, and project management teams to ensure data accuracy and usability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Data Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in construction, data analysis, or project controls role; experience in design-build preferred.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel dashboards).
- Experience with SQL, Python, and similar data querying language.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience developing executive dashboards or board-level reports.
- Prior experience with ERP integrations or Procore data extraction via API or custom reports.
- Construction field experience or deep understanding of project lifecycles.
- Experience in predictive analytics with design-build organizations.
- Knowledge of various design and construction means, methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.
- Demonstrates management, leadership and interpersonal skills.
