Summary: Plans and implements activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children; responsible for the care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, specialized programs, and redirection of children; and, communicates directly with parents; maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness.

Essential Functions:
1. Provide care, support, oversight and education for children2. May share lead responsibilities with Teacher and Assistant Teacher3. Engage with current and prospective parents and family members and is responsive to their needs4. Assure DCFS Licensing rules and regulations are being followed and carried out5. Completes all documentation in a timely manner. Assists and accepts responsibility in other daily school duties as needed7. Attends and fully participates in all staff meetings, school events, and parent meetings8. Participate in the planning for and attend various meetings including IEP, staff meetings, parent conferences, weekly child development, etc.9. As possible, help with staff absences by assisting with lunch breaks or dismissal times.10. Maintain a list of new materials that the classroom could utilize with students. Submit purchase orders when ordering materials. 11. Maintain records of attendance for each student. 12. Communicate and submit reports as required to parents, school management and school district, etc.13. Attend seminars, sessions related to professional development as well as meetings.14. Address classroom emergencies in the classroom such as forgotten lunches and minor accidents.15. Preparing and implementing remedial sessions for the children who require extra assistance.16. Enforce school administration policies.17. Supervise children, plan and supervise trips and classroom activities.18. Follow school policies and procedures, including roles and responsibilities plan and attendance, as established for position.19. Other duties as assigned from time to time to support and meet school objectives.

Education, Experience and Skills:
1. Montessori Credential AMS or AMI or Bachelors in Early Childhood .3. Become fluent in Cued Speech within 6 months of hire (memorize chart, school will provide training for Cue Speech).4. Excellent organizational skills5. Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills6. Willingness and ability to be flexible in assignments and work hours7. CPR and First Aid Certification8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.9. Must love working with children. 10. DCFS Mandatory Trainings; SBS, SIDS, WEEC,Mandated Reporter, Health Safety and Child Development Training, and Food Handler Certificate. & Gateways Membership

Minimum Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand and move for 95% of the day. 2. Use of hearing, hands and eyes 100% of the workday.3. Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed during the workday.4. Assume postures in low level positions that best allow visual contact with children. 5. Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, perform activities with children such as, jump, dance, run, etc. for extended periods of time. 6. Ability to multi-task and able to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing needs of the children.7. Typical of a classroom environment; exposure to activity and children. 8. Work both indoors and outdoors.9. Stamina to work all assigned hours.
