Underwriting Senior Analyst/ Junior Associate - Real Estate

A growing private real estate investment manager based in Darien, CT is seeking a Senior Analyst / Junior Associate to join its underwriting and asset management team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction lending, bridge lending, or real estate development, with strong analytical capabilities and a passion for credit-focused real estate investing.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in real estate underwriting, bridge lending, construction lending, development, acquisitions, or related fields
• Strong modeling skills (Excel) and understanding of debt structures
• Familiarity with construction budgets, schedules, and risk assessment a strong plus
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Bachelor’s degree required (Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Engineering, or related fields preferred)

Responsibilities

• Underwrite senior and subordinate debt investments across multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, and other asset classes
• Build and manage detailed financial models, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses
• Assist in reviewing deal structures, loan terms, budgets, and third-party reports
• Participate in site visits, borrower meetings, and construction progress evaluations
• Prepare investment memos and materials for internal credit committee
• Support asset management activities including draw reviews, covenant monitoring, and performance tracking
• Conduct market research and assist in portfolio analytics as needed
