A Midwest-based private equity firm with a strong track record of investing in lower-middle-market industrial and manufacturing businesses is seeking to add an Associate to its investment team in Minneapolis.
This is a lean, hands-on role offering broad exposure across the full deal lifecycle, including sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio company support. The Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals and management teams.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new investment opportunities and support deal sourcing efforts
- Build and review detailed financial models (LBO, operating models, returns analysis)
- Conduct industry, market, and company-specific diligence
- Prepare investment memoranda and materials for internal committees
- Assist with transaction execution and coordination with advisors
- Support portfolio company initiatives and ongoing performance monitoring
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or a related investing role
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Experience across industrials, manufacturing, or business services preferred
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree from a top academic institution; MBA or CPA a plus
