Job Description
Position Summary: Receive and review prescriptions for the full range of pharmaceuticals to include controlled drugs, intravenous medications and specialty drugs. Determine the type of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed. Enter prescriptions into computer system, reviewing profile for allergy and herbal documentation, drug/drug or drug/food. We provide non-sterile compounding services, as well as retail pharmacy services.
Maintains complete, timely and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials, and transfers all clinical questions and judgment calls to the pharmacist. Ability to deal with a diverse customer base in a friendly and confident manner (internal and external customers); Excellent communication skills (oral, written, grammar, listening); PC Windows experience required; Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); Ability to maintain confidentiality
