Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation
- Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence
- Prepare and organize case files for court hearings and trials
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress
- Schedule appointments, hearings, and depositions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date calendars for attorneys
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness lists
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience with family law.
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Proficient in legal drafting and research techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Skills:
- Proficient in using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for legal research
- Ability to litigate cases from start to finish, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and attending court hearings
- Strong research skills to gather relevant information for case preparation
- Negotiation skills to assist attorneys in reaching settlements on behalf of clients
- Excellent legal administrative skills, including document management and file organization
- Strong legal drafting skills to prepare accurate and persuasive legal documents
