ROTATIONAL - TERMINAL OPERATOR
Reports to: Terminal Manager
Location: Adak or Cold Bay, Alaska
Status: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt, Rotational
JOB SUMMARY: To ensure that all terminal operations are completed safely and in accordance with Federal, state and customer regulations and/or requirements. This is a rotational two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off position with the flexibility to work longer shifts if necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Follow terminal policies and procedures and pays special attention to all job scope specific health, environment, and safety guidelines.
- Accomplish daily operational requirements and performs minor repairs to maintain the operation of the fuels systems.
- Fuel marine vessels, transfers fuel within the terminal, refuels housing tanks, power plant and other utility fuel tanks, and complete all supporting documents.
- Offload fuel from vessels into terminal storage tanks from the terminal marine dock.
- Analyze fuel samples for water and sediment contaminants.
- Test samples for API gravity, and flashpoint.
- Participate in spill response training for water and land as required.
- Ensure the terminal and surrounding area is maintained in an orderly and compliant fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Ability to perform the essential functions in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to pass a hazmat physical.
- Knowledge of fuel terminal operations, fuel purchasing and sales.
- Skill in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact in a team environment and foster positive relationships.
- Boiler maintenance and plumbing experience preferred.
- Mechanical and preventative maintenance experience preferred.
HOUSING & TRANSPORTATION
- Housing will be provided by AV, food and other necessities will be employee's responsibility.
- Round trip airfare will be provided from Anchorage to job location.
- Company vehicle will be provided while on location.
REQUIRED TRAINING
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER training and 8 hour HAZWOPER Refresher each year.
- Pollution Prevention Training, Overview of Oil Spill Response, Oil Spill Response Tools and Tactics.
- Small Vessel Safety.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Current Alaska drivers license.
- Current Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- Must obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge within 6 months of hire date.
- Must obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 6 months of hire date.
