Position Summary:
The LPN will review medications with clients to ensure they understand the name and purpose of each medication, and how often they should take it. Area served is Jefferson County area and surrounding counties.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide monthly training for new Residential Support Specialist staff one Saturday per month.
-Maintain the Medication Administration Record
-Perform observations for new MAC Workers.
-Perform quarterly observations of all MAC workers.
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing coordinator
-On-call every three weeks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of prescription medications
-Ability to communicate well with clients
Qualifications:
-Nursing degree from an accredited Nursing program
-Current, valid and unrestricted LPN license by the State of Alabama, required.
-Minimum 1 year of experience as an LPN, preferred.
-Must be eligible to obtain MAS certification.
-Valid CPR certification and current TB skin test required
Travel:
-Travel is required between facilities.
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included.

Schedule: F/T, Non-Exempt, Monday – Friday 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
