What you'll do:
- Perform in-process, pre-cap/internal visual, final, and external visual inspections
- Inspect electronic and mechanical components, including semiconductors, integrated circuits, hybrid microcircuits, mechanical parts, and printed wiring boards
- Ensure compliance with standards such as MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), MIL-P-55110, MIL-P-50884, and J-STD-002
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and tolerances
- Verify product conformity, workmanship, dimensions, and functionality
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate certification and compliance records
- Participate in product qualification and recertification testing
- Stay current with customer, military, and industry standards
- Identify nonconforming products and escalate quality issues
- Support customer audits and special qualification requirements
Qualifications:
- Prior experience performing quality inspections in aerospace
- Strong knowledge of military and commercial inspection standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Experience inspecting electronic components and mechanical assemblies
- Familiarity with industry standards:
- MIL-STD-750
- MIL-STD-883
- ASME Y14.5 (GD&T)
- MIL-P-55110
- MIL-P-50884
- J-STD-002
- IPC standards
- Experience with:
- Internal visual inspections
- External visual inspections
- Final acceptance inspections
- Experience with IPC-specific inspections, solderability testing, and printed circuit board (PCB) inspections
Physical / Work Requirements:
- Ability to use microscopes, calipers, measuring tools, and inspection equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform detailed visual inspections for extended periods.
- Strong manual dexterity and close attention to detail.
