We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Foreman – Ductwork Installation to lead and manage commercial HVAC ductwork crews on active construction projects. This role requires strong field leadership, the ability to read and execute construction drawings, and hands-on experience installing commercial HVAC duct systems. The foreman will be responsible for productivity, quality control, safety compliance, and coordination with project management and other trades.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead ductwork installation crews on commercial construction projects
- Interpret and execute mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate daily activities with project managers, superintendents, and other trades
- Plan manpower, material staging, and equipment needs to meet project schedules
- Ensure all ductwork is installed per plans, SMACNA standards, and local codes
- Enforce jobsite safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Perform quality control inspections and address field issues proactively
- Track daily labor, production, and progress reporting
- Mentor and train apprentices and installers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC ductwork installation
- 2 years in a foreman or lead role preferred
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal duct systems, supports, hangers, and accessories
- Ability to read blueprints, details, and mechanical schedules
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on Medium/Large commercial projects (retail, multifamily, hospitality, institutional)
- Familiarity with SMACNA standards and Florida Building Code
- Ability to coordinate inspections and resolve field conflicts
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
