Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate for grade level content area with required special education endorsements for assignments
ESL Supplemental endorsement (If you do not hold an ESL endorsement, you will be required to obtain it by March)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area
Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Experience: At least one year student teaching or approved internship
