What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Director/Dance Teacher - AHS 2026-2027 position at Aledo ISD?
Reports to: Campus Principal & Director of Fine Arts
Primary Purpose:
The Dance Director provides high-quality instruction in dance while developing and overseeing a comprehensive, vertically aligned dance program.
This position includes directing a competitive dance team, coordinating performances and events, and ensuring all program components align
with district, Texas Education Agency (TEA), and University Interscholastic League (UIL) guidelines. The director fosters student growth in performance, technique, and leadership
within a structured and supportive environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dance, Dance Education, or related field
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Dance and Physical Education (PE certification required)
- Demonstrated experience in dance instruction and choreography
- Experience directing or assisting a competitive dance/drill team preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
