Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certification is a plus
- Proven experience in debt collection or a related field
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and meet established goals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices
Responsibilities:
- Contact individuals or businesses with overdue payments via phone, mail, or in person
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements with debtors to resolve outstanding debts
- Document all communication and payment agreements accurately in the system
- Assist in the recovery of outstanding debts through legal actions if necessary
- Provide regular updates on account status to management
- Collaborate with other team members to improve collection strategies and meet targets
