The Senior Safety Manager is responsible for the strategic implementation and oversight of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management system for the DC-Maryland-Virginia Area Transportation division. This role focuses on high-level risk mitigation, leadership of the field safety team, and ensuring that all project operations align with both corporate standards and client-specific requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure the safety team is meeting divisional goals.

Strategic Safety Planning

  • Hazard Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for complex foundation projects, focusing on high-hazard activities such as drilling, heavy lifting, and specialized electrical work.

Client & Project Integration

  • Contractual Compliance: Ensure all field operations meet the specific "Contractual Requirements" and safety credentials mandated by project owners.
  • Safety Culture: Foster a "Safety First" culture by leading safety meetings, participating in pre-construction planning, and serving as the primary safety liaison for project stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • 10 years in construction safety, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role overseeing other safety professionals.
  • Deep expertise in foundation work, power infrastructure, and heavy civil construction.
