Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their needs.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling.
- Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to customers.
- Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
- Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stocking shelves effectively.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in restocking efforts.
- Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Exhibit strong communication skills while interacting with customers both in-person and over the phone, ensuring professional phone etiquette at all times.
- Foster a welcoming environment for all shoppers, including bilingual support when applicable.
Experience
- Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus, as well as any prior supervisory experience.
- Skills in merchandising, stocking, product demos, and customer service will be highly regarded.
