Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers, managing inventory, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Your role will involve engaging with customers, demonstrating products, and contributing to the overall success of the store.

Duties

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their needs.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling.
• Conduct product demonstrations to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer purchases and increase sales.
• Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and stocking shelves effectively.
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and participating in restocking efforts.
• Supervise junior staff members when necessary, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Utilize basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
• Exhibit strong communication skills while interacting with customers both in-person and over the phone, ensuring professional phone etiquette at all times.
• Foster a welcoming environment for all shoppers, including bilingual support when applicable.

Experience

• Previous experience in retail sales is preferred but not mandatory; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
• Familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus, as well as any prior supervisory experience.
• Skills in merchandising, stocking, product demos, and customer service will be highly regarded.
