To help save our customers green, we need an amazing team who knows all about it. Our National Finance & Administration Services department oversees the management of the critical resources and infrastructure that our people need to get the job done at every level. This service department is designed to make sure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive the support they need to run a successful operation. Within Finance our teams include: Accounting, Corporate Tax, Financial Reporting and Treasury and Finance.
Position Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary: $135,000
Salary Increases: Year 2 - $142,500 | Year 3 - $150,000
Work Location: Batavia, IL
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists leadership with recommendations on the consolidation of financial statements.
• Advises on any changes or actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Liaises with each business function (i.e., divisions, national services) to ensure timely and efficient communication flows.
• Provides input to their direct leader on hiring for positions reporting to them.
• Informs management of major team milestones, developments, and concerns.
• Leads or participates in projects in partnership with the business ensuring appropriate financial controls and accounting practices are implemented.
• Assists their direct leader in assuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards, including established policies and procedures.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of external reporting accounting processes; identifies and recommends changes to accounting procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintains, manages, and has complete understanding of the external reporting department requirements and open issues.
• Coordinates the annual external audit under IFRS (group accounting and standalone).
• Assists their direct leader with all project management related responsibilities and effectively communicates status of projects to all participants.
• Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
• Supervises the day-to-day operations of their team, escalating issues to the appropriate level of support and/or leadership when necessary.
• Ensures direct reports complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner to provide the highest level of customer service for the business.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance required.
• Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
• CPA preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.
• Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
• Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
• Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.

• Domestic travel required.
