Location: Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana
Shift: Gold Shift – 7:15 PM to 4:00 AM
Overtime: Up to 2.5 hours daily based on production needs
Position Summary
The Group Leader (GL) is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and production support operations within the Toyota Princeton plant. This role leads Team Leaders and Team Members to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity standards are consistently met.
The GL plays a critical role in maintaining 100% customer satisfaction through accurate sequencing, on-time delivery, and adherence to Toyota operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and support a team of 5–15 Team Members and Team Leaders
- Communicate job expectations, provide coaching, and drive accountability
- Determine staffing levels and assign workloads based on operational needs
- Conduct semi-annual and annual performance evaluations (reviewed by Operations Manager)
- Develop and implement training plans for new hires following SOP
Operations & Performance
- Ensure 100% on-time delivery, quality standards, and correct sequencing
- Drive operational efficiency in receiving, identifying, inspecting, and inventory control
- Organize and maintain efficient inbound and outbound staging areas
- Ensure accuracy of shipments and inventory transactions
- Measure and report performance of team members and overall operational effectiveness
- Utilize reporting tools to monitor and project warehouse status
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine safety walks to ensure compliance with 5S standards
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures within the facility
- Ensure annual forklift/tugger certifications are completed and documented
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times
Continuous Improvement & Process Management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Create, update, and maintain Work Instructions (WIS) as required
- Review and communicate necessary changes to processes and procedures
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for operational improvements
Communication & Coordination
- Interface directly with customers to resolve issues and answer questions
- Update and maintain FMDS boards as required by Operations Manager
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for operational tracking
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding performance, issues, and improvements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a leadership role preferred
- Extensive forklift experience required
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics
