Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience in family law and protective proceedings (guardianships and conservatorships). Litigation experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of family law principles and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal situations.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law matters (collaborative and litigation) and protective proceedings (guardianships and conservatorships)
- Draft state circuit court pleadings
- Conduct legal research and analyze case law
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel/parties, and court personnel
- Assist in hearing/trial preparation and representation in court
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Oregon
- 1-5 years of experience in family law
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills
- Compassionate and client-focused approach
- Willing to complete Collaborative Law training
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary based on experience
- Billable hour requirement of 1,000 hours per year (approximately 80 hours per month); possibility of reduced monthly obligation for the first few months
