Morning Assistant Teacher
We are seeking a warm, dependable Morning Assistant Teacher to support our classroom team during the early hours of the day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys starting the day with children, values connection with families, and can confidently lead a small group independently.
The Morning Assistant Teacher will be responsible for managing a group of up to 13 children prior to the arrival of the primary classroom teacher. Responsibilities include serving breakfast and/or morning snack, supervising large motor play outdoors or in the gym, supporting free-choice activities, and creating a calm, welcoming start to each child’s day. This position also involves communicating with parents during morning drop-off and engaging positively with children throughout the morning routine.
This role serves as an essential support to the classroom teacher and contributes to a collaborative, child-centered learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and manage a small group of children with confidence and care
- Prior work experience in a childcare or early learning setting (required)
- Background in early childhood or elementary education through experience, coursework, or a degree (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a warm, professional presence with families
Schedule & Hours:
- Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Additional hours may be available through substitute coverage or split shifts
