TITLE: Substitute Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Elementary and/or Secondary
- Substitute License registered through McHenry County Regional Office of Education.
- Self-motivated and adept at problem solving and critical thinking
4.. Successfully completes required criminal history check, physical, drug screen and proof of US citizens hip or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal(s)
JOB GOAL: Through job assignments, serve as the instructional lead of students in the absence of the regular teacher.
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school to receive assignment and special instructions
- Review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teacher day
- Review special needs of students and emergency procedures
- Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school the classroom to which he/she is assigned
- Teacher students using the lesson plans as outlined and described by the absent teacher
- Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practices dictate
- Returns the classroom to an orderly condition at the conclusion of the day, placing papers collected on the teacher’s desk
- Maintains confidentiality of all school-related matters
- Performs all other duties as dictated by law and/or by a supervisor or administrator
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year is an as needed basis for assignments. Compensation is a daily rate based on the rates establish by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be completed by the building principal(s) on an annual basis.
