The Engineering and Surveying Technician plays a vital role in the efficient production of quality design services at Aldeia. Their technical knowledge and experience are relied upon to perform a variety of surveying and inspection services in the field and to assist in the successful completion of projects with plan production and a variety of other responsibilities in the office. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology and innovation to make efficient delivery of quality engineering and surveying services possible.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field surveys using total stations, GPS equipment, and other surveying instruments for a variety of surveys including boundary, topographic, flood insurance, construction staking and as-built surveys.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate survey activities and ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct research and gather information from various sources to support surveying activities.
- Record survey data, including measurements, observations, and field notes, using digital or manual methods.
- Process and analyze survey data using computer software to generate maps, plans, and reports.
- Prepare topographic maps and survey plats under the direction of the Licensed Surveyor.
- Assist Design Professionals in designing and planning projects based on survey information.
- Adhere to safety regulations and quality standards while performing surveying tasks.
- Maintain survey equipment and vehicles in good working condition and perform regular calibration and maintenance.
- Valid State issued driver’s license
- Pass a drug screening and background test, when required to do so
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Further education or certification is a plus
- Able to meet the physical demands required to perform the necessary field work
- General understanding of surveying practices and technical experience using surveying equipment like GPS and total stations
- Computer Skills: Trimble, Autodesk Civil Suite (Civil 3D), Microsoft Office Suite
