As a Senior Engineer supporting Optical fiber manufacturing and processes within Research & Development, you will be trusted to work on the Research & Development of products that help revolutionize the eye care industry, advance optimal patient outcomes, and help people see brilliantly.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Supporting the installation and commissioning of advanced optical fiber production facility. Partnering with contractors and vendors to support the customization and procurement of equipment.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of nextgeneration optical fiber technologies and production processes.
- Recommending and applying effective engineering solutions independently, ensuring efficiency and innovation in operations.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 10 yrs; Assoc. 6 yrs; M.S. 0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 2 Years of Relevant Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in fiber optic technologies, including fabrication methods and precision termination techniques.
- Practical experience with chemical processes and laboratory operations.
- Preferred: Working knowledge of CAD software for design and engineering applications.
