Full-time position based in the San Luis Valley; limited travel required

Position Summary: Alcon Construction is looking for an experienced concrete foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will successfully lead and manage a crew of concrete laborers to ensure all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Objectives and Competencies: The Concrete Foreman is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the concrete portion of a construction project.

• Experience in all phases and types of concrete work, including slab on grade, structural foundation, civil, concrete placing, concrete finishing, and rebar installation
• Must be able to read and fully understand construction drawings and specifications for concrete and associated trades
• Calculate concrete quantities based on plan specifications
• Ensure pour areas are properly prepped, formed, and inspected prior to placement
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite work area
• Ensure that all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with company policies, processes, and procedures
• Develop daily and weekly work schedules
• Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained, cleaned and in good working order
• Enforce safety standards and conduct safety meetings
• Create and maintain plans to optimize productivity and utilize assets efficiently
• Input daily logs, pictures, timecards, mileage and equipment usage
• Anticipate and resolve issues proactively to minimize downtime and rework
• Mentor, discipline, and monitor performance of crew members
• Assist with other duties or special projects as needed

Projects you may work on include sidewalks, curb and gutter, foundations, and flatwork, including large commercial slabs. You should have your own tools of the trade.

Education and Experience: Qualified candidates should have at least:

· 3 years concrete and finishing experience and

· 1 year of supervisory experience

Previous concrete foreman experience is strongly preferred. Must have math abilities at a level to perform concrete and material takeoffs, layout, check for square, and verify substrate elevation. Please show all concrete and supervisory experience in your work history on your resume or application.

Physical Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record is required. This position also requires the ability to climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, squat, and exert heavy physical effort. You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. The work environment is typically outside and may require work in confined spaces. Travel outside of the San Luis Valley is occasionally required.
