We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Sourcing Manager, Transportation & Distribution supporting the MTO Team in Fort Worth, TX, a typical day will include:
- Oversee procurement for specific categories of goods and services, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers for efficient sourcing and delivery.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate options based on cost, quality, and reliability.
- Manage the procurement process, including issuing Requests for Proposals, negotiating contracts, and monitoring supplier performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Support cost-saving initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and supplier consolidation.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and budgetary constraints.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for various transportation modes (e.g., truckload, lessthan-truckload, rail, ocean, and air freight) and distribution (warehouse services, capital equipment, supplies, etc.), including the development of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract award processes.
- Negotiate contracts with transportation and distribution service providers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, cost savings, and service level agreements.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Use data analytics skills to evaluate opportunities, identify trends, and support decision making processes.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, finance, and operations teams, to align procurement strategies with business needs.
- Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain and logistics.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school 15 yrs; Assoc. 11 yrs; M.S. 4 yrs; PhD 3 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 7 Years of Relevant Experience Worksite location: Onsite
- Travel: Up tp 25%
