Job Description:
Are you a skilled carpenter, low-voltage electrician, or mechanical installer looking to transition into a specialized, high-demand trade? Our growing residential elevator installation company is looking for motivated team players to train as Installation Technicians / Mechanics in Training.
No prior elevator experience is required—we will teach you the specific mechanics of the trade. If you have experience in general construction framing, electrical wiring, or HVAC installation, your skills will translate perfectly here.
What You Will Do:
- Work in 2-person teams to install residential elevators and wheelchair lifts across the greater Charleston area.
- Read and interpret basic structural blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Assist with structural hoistway alignment, mechanical cab assembly, and low-voltage control wiring.
- Ensure total compliance with safety codes and local residential building regulations.
- Interface professionally with homeowners, site managers, and general contractors.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 1–3 years in an adjacent trade (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or property maintenance) is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and comfort using common hand/power tools.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy components, work in confined elevator shafts, and stand for long periods.
- License: Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for traveling to regional job sites.
