What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Analyst position at Alchemy Analytics, LLC?
COMPANY OVERVIEW:
Alchemy Analytics is an analytical testing lab in Dekalb, Mississippi. In accordance with MSDH regulations, we perform compliance testing as well as R&D testing for cultivators and processors. Our goal is to ensure a safe and reliable product is brought to the market.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age,
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, environmental or related science from an accredited college or university,
- Well-versed in laboratory operations (analytical, chemical, biological, or all),
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications. Experience with a LIMS is preferred,
- Analytical experience of chromatology preferred,
- Experience in preparing, and testing samples on GCMS, LCMS/MS, HPLC, and ICPMS preferred.
- Must pass criminal background check and obtain work permit,
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, and lift for long periods of time.
RESPONSIBLITIES and DUTIES
- Proficiently perform all relevant laboratory testing.
- Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of necessary records.
- Responsible for in-taking, preparing, and testing samples on GCMS, LCMS/MS, HPLC, ICPMS, PCR and other various equipment.
- Analyze samples consisting of a variety of matrices using traditional laboratory technologies including, but not limited to, HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, and ICP/MS.
- Conducts equipment checks.
- Follows relevant SOPs and related forms, including documentation of checks and maintenance in instrument maintenance logs.
- Follows and fulfills analytical and analytical preparation duties for various assays, including potency, terpenes, pesticides, mycotoxins, microbial and residual solvent analyses per Alchemy Analytics SOPs.
- Prepare samples for analysis while displaying good laboratory technique to avoid cross-contamination or misidentified samples.
- Accurately prepare calibration curves and quality control samples.
- Interpret and evaluate data in terms of accuracy, precision, trends, and quality control requirements.
- Maintain laboratory equipment by cleaning, and otherwise ensuring ongoing proper working order. Report equipment issues to supervisor
- Collaborate with the laboratory team to meet reporting deadlines.
- Think critically and creatively on process improvement.
- Able to perform method validations, or verifications as needed.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
