About Our 2021 Summer Internship Program
The Alcami Summer Intern Program is a paid 10-week program from May 17 – July 23, 2021. Alcami interns are provided hands-on work experience building upon knowledge and skills learned in the classroom. Interns work side-by-side industry leaders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment who are passionate about being part of a team developing life-saving drugs around the world. The program concludes with individual presentations to Alcami leaders.
Position Summary
The 2021 Summer Intern- Chemistry Analyst will be responsible for completing all onboarding activities and providing feedback for process improvements. The intern will be trained on proper laboratory techniques and documentation in a GMP environment. The intern will maintain laboratory facilities, including organization of sample, disposal of laboratory/manufacturing waste, and 5s organizational activities. All interns will be trained on laboratory/manufacturing safety, are expected to maintain safety standards, and are to report safety observations according to company policy. In addition, the intern will be responsible for the following:
- Learning about the analysis and troubleshooting of wet chemistry techniques; UV, FTIR, TOC, Osmolaity, KF, AA, HPLC and GC.
- Performing routine sample processing for required analytical methods.
- Performing basic analyses on raw materials.
- Learning about the maintenance of some analytical testing instruments.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment free from safety hazards.
Education and Requirements
- Enrolled in a 4-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology with a Chemistry Minor or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.
- Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.
- Excellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.
- Awareness or prior work experience in a GMP environment preferred.

What to Expect
Candidates who are invited to interview will be contacted by Alcami Global Talent Acquisition to schedule a phone interview with a member of the Global Talent Acquisition team. Candidates who are invited to progress in the interview process will be scheduled for an onsite face-to-face or a virtual, video interview with hiring managers. During the interview, you will be asked questions about your scientific and technical knowledge as well as behavioral-based questions.
