ACCOUNTANT - FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Compensation: Wage range: $25.43 hourly ($52,885 annually) - $31.27 hourly ($65,043 Annually) FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. *The starting wage for this position will be $25.43 per hour.

Position Function Summary
Work in a team environment in Finance. This position performing accounting work related to payroll processing and purchasing. Accounting skills needed include maintenance of daily operations (A/R and A/P). Analysis and interpretation of Fund accounting. Monthly management of financial and accounting data. Work includes skills in preparation and posting of various journals, ledgers, reconciliations and accounts. Payroll processed bi-weekly. Work with payroll vendor. Complex account work includes Fund accounting and allocation of dollars spent. Learning HUD regulations and requirements. Current knowledge of and experience with Yardi and Isolved software is a plus. Accountant is expected to understand and apply accounting theories, principles, terms, and practices in the preparation and evaluation of fiscal records. Work in an environment of building skills and learning an industry with career opportunities.

Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures and technical manuals. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, contractors, supervisors, co-workers, residents, and city/county agencies.

Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and
- Working knowledge and experience in a federally funded program or fund accounting with grant experience.
- Master's degree in Accounting.
- Full-cycle payroll processing experience.
- Experience with, or working knowledge of Yardi and Isolved accounting platforms.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an associate degree and four (2) years of relevant accounting experience and one (1) year of full-cycle payroll processing experience and working knowledge and experience in a federally funded program or fund accounting with grant experience.
