What are the responsibilities and job description for the TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR APPRENTICE position at Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority?
Summary
This is a training and certification program which will provide an opportunity for advancement based upon successful completion of each level of training and certification. The apprentice level consists of learning to operate and maintain equipment involved in the operation of wastewater treatment plant e.g. collecting various wastewater samples and conducting sample tests; learning and operating the more routine functions of a wastewater treatment plant.
Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED, plus 6 months experience as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, plumber, or electrician. A certificate from the Sacramento School will substitute for 6 months experience.
The following Work Key Scores are required: Applied Math (4) Graphic Literacy (4) or Locating Information (4) Workplace Observation (1) Experience such as described in the job description may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Position Requirements
- Possess a Valid New Mexico Driver's License or a Valid Driver's License from another State converted to New Mexico within 1 month
- Driving Record consistent with being issued an Authority Operator Permit by Risk Management
- Must be able to pass respiratory clearance exam prior to hire and at least every 3 years after hire. Must be able to pass respirator FIT Test within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
