Summary
The Albuquerque Academy Charger Swim and Pro Shop is seeking an individual for the position of Charger Swim and Pro Shop assistant. This position is responsible for running the Charger Swim and Pro Shop during peak hours to assist the manager. The shop assistant is required to perform cash register responsibilities and assist customers with purchases. This position requires the ability to perform store operations without manager supervision upon training completion. Essential Functions
- Perform cash register and sales responsibilities
- Handle multiple forms of payment correctly
- Correctly navigate our POS system and provide correct change
- Must demonstrate ability to perform store operations without manager supervision upon completion of training
- Organize merchandise in attractive displays
- Greet customers in a friendly and open manner
- Inventory management and organization
- Prioritize customer satisfaction through attention to detail & friendly demeanor
- Support the School and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

Other Responsibilities
- Communicate with store manager regarding issues, store function, and overall operations
- Responsibly carry out all duties while reporting to shifts on time and ready to work.
- Keep the merchandise and counter areas clean and orderly
- Answer questions about merchandise and give suggestions
- Assist in proper merchandise sizing
- Attend employee meetings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Experience
- Previous experience in customer service and/or retail is preferred but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Computer skills including POS navigation
- Ability to responsibly manage cash and other forms of payment
- Strong communication skills
- Motivated and willing to learn in a retail/customer service setting
Special Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Working Environment
- Majority of work is performed in an indoor setting in the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium.
- Work hours are generally from 3:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- Employee schedules will be determined upon individual availability.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for up to four hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
