Substitute Teacher Job Description
Position Summary:
The Substitute Teacher provides instruction, manages the classroom environment, and promotes student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role ensures continuity of education and upholds school policies and expectations while maintaining a positive, safe, and engaging learning atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:

Follow lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure consistent instruction.

Maintain classroom order and manage student behavior according to school policies.

Adapt teaching methods and materials when necessary to meet students' needs.

Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, schoolyards, and on field trips.

Record attendance and report any incidents, issues, or concerns to school administration.

Leave detailed notes for the returning teacher about classroom activities and student performance.

Uphold the school's mission, vision, and values while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

State teaching license or substitute teaching permit (as required by local regulations).
