Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Experienced Diesel / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our fleet, including excavators, tractors, and other heavy-duty vehicles. Final pay will be determined by experience. Must have your own tools. Class A CDL is a plus but not required.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and service manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments and HVAC system checks to ensure machinery operates efficiently.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures or testing phases to verify repairs and functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and follow safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working in dealership environments or with heavy equipment repair services.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and HVAC components.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, heavy lifting equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience with automotive diagnostics software and electrical troubleshooting methods.
