Role Summary
Role Summary
The Graduate Assistant will provide coaching support to the Women’s Soccer program. This role is designed to provide the student with professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the operational goals of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance their academic workload with coaching, recruiting, instructing, advising, counseling, scouting, monitoring academics.
Housing, Work Hours & Duties
Athletics GA positions may include the option for on-campus housing as part of the tuition compensation package.
- GAs who chooses to live on campus are required to work up to 25 hours per week, reflecting additional responsibilities related to both Athletics and Residence Life.
- GAs who does not choose the housing option are required to work up to 20 hours per week, focusing primarily on Athletics-related responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the head coach for the women's soccer program.
- Coaching on field, both traditional and non traditional season
- Recruiting - involves traveling to local high school games and showcases throughout the academic year
- Instructing, advising and counseling to student athletes which can be in a team setting or one on one
- Scouting game - watching film, breaking and down and providing that information the head coach and team
- Monitoring academic progress which involves attendance, Navigate Alerts, mid term grades and team study hall.
- Serve as a positive role model for all student-athletes and represent Albertus Magnus College in a professional, responsible, and positive manner.
- Follow all NCAA, GNAC, and Athletics Department guidelines.
- Foster a culture of compliance with NCAA rules and regulations, and to assist with the promotion of an environment of institutional control over intercollegiate athletics by Albertus Magnus College.
Eligibility & Requirements
- Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:
- Accounting (only two spots available)
- Business Administration
- Criminal Justice
- Management and Organizational Leadership
- Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in [Microsoft Office/Google Workspace].
