Key Fifth Person

The Key Fifth is a store leadership position responsible for supporting the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, and department management team in the day-to-day operation of the store. This role provides customer service leadership, supervises associates, ensures compliance with company policies, and serves as a key holder responsible for opening, closing, and securing the store when assigned.

• Assist with daily store operations and ensure company standards are maintained.
• Support store leadership in achieving sales, productivity, and customer service goals.
• Monitor store conditions, merchandising, pricing, and signage accuracy.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized shopping environment.

• Provide direction and support to store associates.
• Promote a positive work environment through coaching and communication.
• Assist with training new employees on operational procedures and customer service expectations.
• Help ensure associates comply with company policies and safety procedures.

• Resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
• Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service.
• Support front-end operations during peak business periods.

• Ensure compliance with company, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Assist in completing required training and compliance programs.
• Support audit readiness and operational compliance initiatives.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous retail grocery experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise as required.

• Leadership and team-building skills.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale system knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Understanding of company policies, cash handling, and safety procedures.

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in varying store environments.
