Credit Manager

The position of Credit Manager is a position requiring a strong commitment to training, delivering, and holding associates accountable for the exceptional, red-carpet service known as the “Albert’s Experience.” This is a leadership role that will lead and create a positive environment characterized by presence, energy, enthusiasm, and efficiency for our guests. It requires expert-level operational skills in understanding and performing all customer service, credit, and collection functions along with the ability to transfer those skills and responsibilities to the credit and customer service department. It safeguards company interests by examining, monitoring, and managing the credit risk associated with extending lines of credit to customers. It holds the oversight for the management, protection, and collection of the company’s accounts receivable and maintaining the company’s credit policy while balancing sales growth with bad debt losses. This position will be supported by a credit specialist.

Credit Department

· This is a support and service role that is the credit face of the company to the public.

· Train the credit specialists and customer service associates to deliver consistent, expert level service and function in all credit transactions including sales, layaways, special orders, account payments, opening new accounts, collections, returns, gold buys, pawns, repairs (jewelry and watch take-ins/pick-ups, cleanings, and inspections).

· Ensure staff development and provide performance feedback including regular performance conversations and yearly performance reviews.

· Ensure high level quantity and quality of work from all associates by tracking and giving performance feedback based on transactions/collections/duties performed.

· Develop, implement, and manage a statistical performance metric by which all associates are measured. Daily, weekly, and monthly performance updates to associates.

· Monitor layaways, employee layaways and short-term layaways in conjunction with customer service.

· Process monthly layaway and Albert’s Credit statements.

· Process monthly credit files and upload to Transunion and Equifax. Understand and use E-Oscar for the correction of reporting errors and inaccuracies.

· Assist in dividing, defining, aligning and cross training the roles of the credit specialist and customer service associates with the department’s needs.

· Schedule and partner with the customer service department to have key people, key places, key times to assure proper coverage and service levels across the credit department.

· Based on the credit calendar daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and responsibilities are to be outlined, assigned with daily checklists for the manager, collection specialist, customer service associates and assistant managers to support the company credit objectives.

· Process credit applications from customers by verifying trade and bank reference checks, credit reports, financials, and other data sources.

· Manage the department including the oversight of credit approvals/limits, credit and collection calls, interactions with settlement agreements, payment arrangements, bankruptcies, or repossessions.

· Monthly review of customers with old outstanding balances and aging reports and collect past due or delinquent customer balances.

· Aggressive collection process that contacts customers to collect past due payments of all accounts and assure prompt handling of collection manners for the quick resolution of turnover of accounts receivable.

· Prepare information for collection agencies and/or attorneys for delinquent accounts.

· Maintain and see all applications, contracts and all required for Alberts Credit, Wells Fargo, ACIMA as applicable by law.

· Monthly tracking and reporting of receivables, write-offs, approvals, turndowns and monthly meeting with marketing and executive team to summarize the credit portfolio sales, collection, and loss/gain performance.

· Provide regular weekly and monthly Credit At- A Glance updates to teach and communicate the most current offers to the entire Albert’s sales team.

· Regular review of credit programs to ensure that we offer the most competitive rates, plans and payment options in the marketplace.

· Maintain a strong personal workload and presence in the credit and customer service department.

· Monitor and ensure total customer satisfaction with our payment options/plans/payments and to assist, intervene or handle customer concerns before they escalate.

· Establish regular meeting rhythms; monthly, weekly with daily communication meetings A.M and P.M.

· Meet/ beat credit department sales/collection goals including total repair the collection of “old money.”

· Provide a secure environment leading and following all security/safety procedures and policies regarding store opening, closing and cash control.

· Understand, support, and reconcile daily work, cash balancing all drawers, preparing, and making bank deposits as needed for back up.

· Provide daily reports for sales, daily reconciliation and follow cash control procedures.

· Train associates to process all credit transactions including Wells, Acima and Transunion.

· Train department associates and sales staff to ship.

· Become a personal expert in repair diagnosis and pricing.

· Participate in weekly manager meetings.

· Implement End of Month Push Final 7 Days each month.

· Must be flexible in availability and be willing to work during peak times.

· Required to travel and represent Alberts in litigation when necessary.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
