Albert Lea Seed House is seeking a Transfer Driver (Class A) to transport seed inventory between our warehouse facilities. This role combines driving with hands-on warehouse work in a fast-paced agricultural environment. What You’ll Do
- Drive a Class A semi (and occasionally panel truck) to transfer seed inventory between multiple warehouse locations
- Load, unload, and move inventory using a forklift and manual handling
- Manually pick and handle seed bags (frequent lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Accurately document all inventory movements using a tablet/ERP system
- Coordinate with office and warehouse staff to prioritize transfers
- Assist with general warehouse operations including stocking, mixing, and bagging seed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Follow all company policies and state/federal regulations related to seed handling and transportation
What We’re Looking For
- Valid CDL – Class A
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Dependable, organized, and safety-conscious
- Agricultural background or interest preferred; knowledge of regenerative/sustainable practices is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing as needed
- Comfortable working in uncontrolled climates (heat, cold, dust)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
