Job Description

The Department of Genetics and the Institute for Aging Research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine invite applications for postdoctoral fellows to join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary research program focused on the biology of healthy aging. The overarching goal of the group is to uncover biological mechanisms that promote longevity and resilience to age-related diseases, using both model organisms and deeply phenotyped human cohorts enriched for exceptional longevity.

Einstein is internationally recognized for leadership in aging research and hosts major centers. These programs provide an outstanding intellectual and technical environment for postdoctoral training in aging biology and multi-omics research. Fellows will have access to extensive genomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and clinical datasets, as well as unique biospecimens from Einstein’s long-standing familial longevity studies.

The research group is supported by multiple NIH-funded projects, including studies of comparative genomics of longevity and investigations into mechanisms of resilience to Alzheimer’s disease. The team is led by Drs. Zhengdong Zhang, Nir Barzilai, and Jan Vijg, and offers a rich collaborative environment that integrates computational, experimental, and clinical expertise.

We seek highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellows who can work independently while engaging in close collaboration across disciplines. The group has a strong track record of mentoring postdoctoral fellows toward independent careers, including successful applications for career development awards. The position offers opportunities for career development and to join a vibrant research community at the forefront of aging and longevity research.
