Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Food Service Supervisor at Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, located in Charlottesville, VA. The Food Service Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety standards, supervising food preparation and staff, and maintaining proper inventory levels. Additional responsibilities include coordinating food distribution, providing guidance to team members, and ensuring meals meet dietary and nutritional standards.
Qualifications
- Supervisory Skills: Proven ability to manage and oversee staff in a food service environment.
- Food Preparation and Food Service: Competence in preparing meals and managing the distribution process efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and coordinate operations.
- Food & Beverage: Understanding of food & beverage standards, dietary needs, and menu planning requirements to support meal preparation and delivery.
- Familiarity with institutional or correctional facility food services is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a safe, compliant food service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional certifications in food safety, nutrition, or management are an advantage.
