Albany Technical College seeks a full-time Healthcare Success Coach to support students across healthcare-related programs. This is a 12-month, grant-funded position created to support the development and implementation of initiatives related to healthcare programs. Employment is limited to the duration of the grant and continuation beyond the grant period is not guaranteed. The position is based at the Dougherty Campus, but may include routine travel throughout the local Service Delivery area. As a member of the Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Department, the Healthcare Success Coach is responsible for coordinating and conducting focused academic advising and student support services to help students in healthcare programs persist in their program of study. The Healthcare Success Coach works to guide students toward course, certificate, diploma, or degree completion by developing and implementing individual and small‑group intervention and prevention strategies that support goal setting and increase persistence in learning. Services include student advisement, academic progress review, and the development and coordination of retention efforts for new and continuing students enrolled in healthcare programs. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to working in a collaborative environment. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the TCSG Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution. This position reports directly to the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides information on targeted career and educational pathways for healthcare students.
- Assists with competitive selection process.
- Works collaboratively with dean, healthcare-related program directors and program chairs to ensure consistency in program selection guidelines. Helps coordinate and plan information sessions on competitive selection process
- Conducts and analyzes on-going formative and summative evaluation data of program effectiveness, making modifications as necessary
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate MUST possess an earned associate degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
- Documented three (3) years related full-time work experience in higher education environment (Prior advisement, teaching or training experience with adult learners)
NOTE: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications, in addition to minimum qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, provide transcripts of conferred degrees and demonstrate in the employment history possession of one or more of the following:
- Earned Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, counseling, education or closely related field from an academic institution that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education
Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in an office or classroom with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits: Theannual grosssalary for this position is $45,000 and is commensurate with the candidate’s education and work experience. This is a full-time position scheduled to work 40 hours per week over a 12‑month period within the calendar year. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
