The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the delivery of patient care within the defined patient care area on the assigned primary shift of work. The ANM contributes to the goal setting and the defining of opportunities for each patient care area for which they are responsible.
The ANM mentors staff for the development of patient care team that demonstrates nursing leadership, professionalism, competency, and quality. The ANM is collegial and customer oriented to patients, family, peers, and physicians as throughput and care coordination is achieved. The ANM is an expert in the care of patients within the unit of specialty.
