Grounds Technician

Albany Management is seeking Grounds Technicians at each of our apartment communities: Parkwood Village (Clifton Park), Strawberry Ridge (Waterford), Dutch Village (Menands) and Carpenter Village (Guilderland) to join our team and help maintain our facilities.

Job Summary:

The Grounds Technician is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the outdoor/exterior areas. This includes landscaping tasks such as lawn and garden care, tree and shrubbery trimming, and ensuring common outdoor spaces are maintained year-round.

Essential Functions:

· Performing tasks such as mowing, trimming, seeding, planting, weeding, mulching, fertilizing and pruning

· Removing debris, managing irrigation systems, erosion control

· Performing refuse pick-up, leaf cleanup, snow removal, salting/sanding

· Working with hand tools, power equipment and gas operated machinery

· Repairing and maintaining equipment

· On-call required during off-hour emergencies

· Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of standing, walking, climbing, bending, and repetitive hand use with power and non-power tools

· Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend or crawl into awkward spaces

· Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time

· Must be able to work in outdoor environments year-round

Requirements/Abilities:

· Effective verbal communication skills

· Basic knowledge of groundskeeping and landscaping techniques, tools, and procedures

· Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and thoroughly

· Ability to read, follow written and verbal instructions, and complete assigned tasks independently

· Proficient in operating a variety of power equipment, including lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and related landscaping machinery

· Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand tools commonly used in landscaping

· Must supply and maintain your own set of hand tools

· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle required

· Mileage reimbursement provided for work-related use of personal vehicle

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
