Job Title: Optometry assistant / Optical Dispensing
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant to join our team in our fast paced clinic. The ideal candidate will enjoy interacting directly with people; scheduling; greeting patients; screening vision and collecting patient history. Training on instruments used to test and analyze vison. Assist in coordinating patient care and office flow. Customer service in a healthcare setting. The optical dispensing portion of training will include assisting patients in fitting, measuring, and adjusting glasses, and instructing patient in care for frames and lenses. Will also gain training in assisting patients with care and handling of contact lenses.
Duties:
- Prepare office for the day and assist w care and coordination for patients
- Assist in maintaining inventory; glasses frames; contacts; and supplies
- Assist in fitting; adjustment; and processing orders for glasses and contacts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients with phone calls or in person
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records, assist w collecting accurate information for insurance billing.
- Follow aseptic techniques to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work environment
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care; referrals to and from our office and
Skills:
- Customer Service
- Proficiency in math for transactions
- Knowledge of medical office procedures
- Familiarity with optical products and services
- Ability to screen and take vital signs accurately
- Experience working in a clinic setting is a plus
- Sales skills to promote products and services; and customer interaction
- Front desk experience for patient check-ins and inquiries; scheduling
